parish family, our community, and our world.

  • Christian Service and Justice Committee

    We meet once a month (2nd Wednesday of the month, 9:00 am) in the conference room across from the parish office to discuss  parish Christian service and justice ministries, which include most of the groups listed below.  We seek to involve the parish as a whole, and new volunteers are welcome, helping those in need and sharing God's love through faith in action.  Please contact us if you would like to become involved (see sign-up links or phone contact persons below.

  • COTS Meal

    COTS is a shelter helping homeless individuals transition to self-sufficiency and independent living.  St. Gabriel prepares and delivers a meal for 20 residents on the 1st Wednesday of each month.  For more information or to sign up as a volunteer click here:  

  • Community Table Meals

    FVCT provides warm meals and company to anyone in need.  St. Gabriel provides a Saturday meal every other month for 60-80 guests at St. Paul's (across from YMCA.)  Prepare a side dish or dessert, or help set up, serve and clean up from 10:30-1:30.   • Pillars (formerly Fox Valley Warming Shelter)

    This shelter provides overnight, temporary shelter to homeless men and women.  St. Gabriel volunteers are assigned one week per year preparing meals and covering over night shifts.

  • Hunter 4 The Hungry

    Rick operates a food trailer that on specific dates in Summer/Fall is located at St. Vincent DePaul on Commercial St., Neenah.  Send Rick an email if you would like to contribute any of the following: Bottled Water, Fresh Fruit, Napkins, #3 Serving Boats, Toys/Books for kids, Garbage Bags or Cash Donations.

  • St. Joseph's Food Pantry

    Each month a specific food/item is collected for the pantry: January- Spaghetti Sauce with Meat, February - Crackers, March - Canned Goods, April - Baby Food & Paper Products, May - Peanut Butter, June - Applesauce & Fruit Juice, July - Cereal , August - Rice, September - Spaghetti Sauce with Meat, October -  Peanut Butter, November - Pasta, December - Baby Food & Paper Products.  However, donations of any type are always welcome.  You can deposits your gifts in the brown container located in the alcove off of Stingle  Hall.  Your support is greatly appreciated.

  • Homebound Ministry

    Our Parish calls the homebound, nursing home residents, and hospitalized parishioners on a regular basis to lift their spirits and give them company. 

  • The Giving Tree

    Christmas Season - Jan Lietz - 920-722-3033

    This Christmas outreach (in conjunction with Boys & Girls Brigade Neenah) provides gifts to local families in need.  Parishioners take a tag from the tree, and return them with the needed gift.  The gifts are transported to the Boys & Girls Brigade, where they are sorted and organized for local families.

  • Operation Santa Claus

    Since its inception, St. Gabriel Parish has supported this Christmas giving to residents of the Winnebago Mental Health Institute.  Gifts are donated by Parishioners and delivered by Christian Service Committee members.

  • Christine Ann Center

    Each year we reach out in a special way to the mothers staying at Christine Ann Center for Domestic Abuse in Oshkosh.  We ask our parish family to give gifts and write cards which we organize and deliver.  They are often received with tears of joy!

  • Help for the Homeless Drive

    Lent Season

    During Lent, we partner with WEMI, The  Family, radio station in gathering hygiene items and cleaning products to be distributed to local agencies serving our poor and homeless.  These items help our struggling neighbors since food assistance does not cover hygiene.

  • Society of St. Vincent de Paul

    The St. Vincent De Paul Society assists members of our local community who are in emergency need or crisis. They meet and assess situations of those in need and works hand in hand with other agencies such as LEAVEN, Red Cross, and Winnebago Department of Human Services. The SVDP store also needs volunteers with varieties of jobs and is always in need of help.

    Do you enjoy making handmade cards?  Or, have card making supplies to donate?  There are four different committees that send out cards to our parishioners or community: Bereavement, Senior Birthdays, Homebound and Military.  You are welcome to make cards for Holidays, Birthdays, and Thinking of You and drop them off at the Church office!  Also, the Stampers are always looking for card making supplies: paper, card stock, envelopes and rubber stamps.

  • Respect Life Committee

    This committee strives to spread the Church's Pro-Life message and works to achieve respect for all human life from fertilization until natural death.  The committee meets the first Monday of every month beginning with the Rosary for Life at 5:30 p.m. in church.  Events include 40 Days for Life in the fall, Respect Life Weekend in Oct., Roe vs. Wade Weekend in January, and Mother's & Father's Days in May & June.  New members are always welcome.

  • Global Outreach

    Global Outreach is a Catholic foreign exchange program that aims to build a civilization of love by welcoming students from various countries around the world. They study at mid-western Catholic high schools for a year. The Global Outreach organizations is always looking for host families. Please contact the parish to learn how to become involved.
