Upcoming Events:
Pizza and Teen Disciples night at Mt. Tabor Center in Menasha. Monday, Feb. 1st and Monday, Feb. 15th join us at Mt. Tabor for pizza and hanging out from 6:00-7:00, and a great evening of fun and prayer led by the Spiritus Team from 7:00–8:30. This will be especially well-attended by teens from the other area parishes, and students from Neenah, Menasha and TCCES Schools. Open to Grades 9-12.
Family Night at Oshkosh YMCA on Friday, February 5th from 5:00–9:00 pm. At only $5 per person, this is a great opportunity for a fun night out. Admission covers food, and access to the entire Y facility, including pool, gyms, soccer field, ice rink, and rock climbing wall. All ages are welcome, from toddlers to grandparents!
Ski at Nordic Mountain on Saturday, Feb. 27th for “Catholic Fellowship Day”. Join with lots of other families and Catholic groups from around the Diocese of Green Bay, and get great rates on lift tickets, rentals and even lessons and tubing!
Called to Serve - One of the best ways for a young person to practice their Catholic faith is to be involved in our worship. Without question, you will feel more connected to God and parish the more you are engaged in our shared prayer life. Mass is not boring when we all play our part! Where can you put your gifts at the service of God and community as we gather for Mass? Perhaps you have a musical gift to share in one of our choirs? You can assist the celebration as an altar server. Or as an usher, you can help set the tone of welcome and community from the moment someone walks in the door of St. Gabriel Parish. Young people (Grades 8 & up) are especially needed as ushers at the 8:30 Sunday Mass time. Please contact Steve, or the parish office (722-4914) for details.
Winter Brake 2010
COME TO THE EVENT. Those who make that first step and attend the Winter Brake for the first time are our best advertising. They also are very likely to attend subsequent Winter Brake’s because they have so much fun. The event is centered on you the parishioners to make it an evening of laughs, socializing and of course fund-raising. Our intention is to make this event as fun filled an evening as possible. But it will only be successful if you are there!
Everyone can help by trying to sell their trip raffle tickets ($120 worth). If we had each person who took tickets (about 500 envelopes were taken) sold all of them, this would be $60,000, which would be about double what the entire event had as profit the last few years.
We are in need of donated items for the raffles and auctions at the event. We have many talented people in the parish and our event provides a great opportunity for you to donate items or services to help raise funds for the parish. If you have something you wish to donate, please contact Mike Pokorny (722-5549), e-mail or see us in the back of church.
Thanks to all who have already stepped forward this year with donations!
We do have need for people to help at the event itself (like helping with the closing of the silent auction tables, help with running the games and raffles). If interested in any of these opportunities, please see us in the back of church.
